I Love You so Matcha

Just wanted to start off by saying thank you for all you dedicated readers out there! I wouldn’t be writing if there weren’t people out there willing to read what I have to say. So, thank you!

Okay, the number of things to love about Cha Cha Matcha are limitless. The atmosphere, the food, the color scheme, and the matcha!

A majority of their menu is dedicated to matcha, which is amazing. Before delving into what’s what on their wondrous list of options, let’s talk about what matcha is. Matcha is, in simplest terms, ground up green tea leaves. One cup of matcha is like ten cups of regular green tea. Because it’s concentrated green tea, it’s packed with antioxidants which means it does great things for your health such as wards off inflammation. It also contains caffeine so instead of getting jittery after two cups of coffee matcha gives you a sense of being attentive while relaxed instead of going one hundred miles an hour. Speaking of relaxed, it’s very meditative. Over the winter I have been incorporating a cup of matcha a day into my routine. Drinking it somehow makes me feel calm and focused.

I’m personally a fan of matcha lattes with almond milk because it feels a little lighter to drink. However Cha Cha Matcha offers seven types of milk: whole, skim, soy, almond, coconut, hemp, rice, and macadamia. So it basically accommodates all dietary restrictions.

If you aren’t a fan of matcha, don’t knock it till job try it, they also have coffee. So any die hard coffee lovers reading this? You’re in luck. Any breakfast connoisseurs? You’re also in luck. They have chia pudding, granola, yogurt, banana bread and a few other pastries.

It’s in SoHo but not IN SoHo. What I mean is that it’s far enough from Broadway that you won’t be swarmed by tourists. Doesn’t mean there isn’t a Cha Cha rush hour. Beware of 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays when all the locals are dropping in for their quick fix of matcha.

Also, just a quick side note, I highly recommend the book #Girlboss. It’s for all those ladies out there who want to be a #Girlboss of their life. Being a girlboss is “about trusting your instincts and following your gut; knowing which rules to follow and which to break; when to button up and when to let your freak flag fly”.
